When to read Percy Jackson The Demigod Files? ›

2nd, The Demigod Files, which can also be read before the last book in PJO. 3rd, The Heroes of Olympus series. You can read The Demigod Diaries after that whole series, but it fits in after The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune, the first two. After that you can move on to The Trials of Apollo series.

Book wise I'd suggest reading the first five "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" first, you can do the Kane chronicles after or go straight to "The Heros of Olympus" after that is "Trials of Apolo" and you can follow it up with "The Magnus Chase Chronicles"! any of the others can be read after the 'main' three series!

Kids in 5,6,7,8 grade would really enjoy this book.

You can really read the Magnus Chase and the Kane Chronicles trilogies whenever you want, though there are a few cameos that would make more sense if you've read at least some of the Greco-Roman stuff first. But you'll still be able to enjoy the stories and characters either way.
