NASCAR All-Star race live updates: Joey Logano wins $1 million with big victory (2024)

It's been a wet mess of a NASCAR All-Star weekend.

The All-Star race starting lineup at North Wilkesboro has been set by qualifying instead of heat race results, which were rained out.

The NASCAR Open will be used to determine two spots in the All-Star race with the last spot to be determined by fan vote.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., punches Kyle Busch after All-Star race

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. confronted Kyle Busch and punched him after the NASCAR All-Star race on Sunday night.

Busch wrecked Stenhouse on the second lap of the race. That came after Stenhouse made a three-wide move to open the race. That led to Busch scraping against the wall. Busch then chased down Stenhouse and put him in the wall.

Joey Logano leads 199 of 200 laps to win All-Star race

Joey Logano won the 2024 NASCAR All-Star race in absolute dominant fiashion.

Logano led 199 of 200 laps. He was the polesitter for the race. Denny Hamlin was second, Chris Buescher edged out Kyle Larson for third. And Ryan Blaney was fifth.

Three of the top-five finishers were Fords, perhaps indicating that Fords were ready for a surge after struggling the first several races of the season.

Logano wins $1 million with the victory.

Lap 150: Joey Logano leads with 50 laps left

Joey Logano, the polesitter for the NASCAR All-Star race, remains the leader with 50 laps remaining. NASCAR has thrown one last caution with 50 to go, but drivers are not mandated to take four new tires.

And don't forget Kyle Larson and Brad Keselowski, who are No. 6 and No. 7 through 150 laps. Larson's performance comes after qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 earlier in the day.

Lap 118: Ty Gibbs hits wall after contact with Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch has wrecked a second driver in the NASCAR All-Star Race. Busch tapped the rear of Ty Gibbs, the NASCAR All-Star Open winner, and put him into the inside wall to bring out a caution.

Lap 79: Joey Logano leads All-Star race

Polesitter Joey Logano has been the dominant car so far in the NASCAR All-Star race at North Wilkesboro.

Chris Buescher is second. Ryan Blaney is third and Brad Keselowski is fourth — a notable strong showing by Ford drivers.

Lap 2: Ricky Stenhouse punted into the wall by Kyle Busch

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was put into the outside wall by Kyle Busch on the second lap of the NASCAR All-Star Race. It came after Stenhouse went three-wide at North Wilkesboro and pushed Busch's right side of his Chevrolet up against the wall. Busch chased him down and put him into the wall.

Stenhouse then came onto pit road and parked his car in Busch's pit stall.

Noah Gragson advances to All-Star race with fan vote

Noah Gragson, of Stewart-Haas racing, will take the final spot in the NASCAR All-Star Race after getting the fan vote.

Ty Gibbs led every lap of the 100-lap All-Star Open race and will advance to the NASCAR All-Star Race along with second-place finisher Bubba Wallace.

Lap 58: Austin Cindric into the wall

Austin Cindric got sandwiched between Carson Hocevar and Noah Gragson on the restart after the mandatory pit stop and ended up against the wall to bring out a caution.

Lap 53: Race off pit road

Here is who came out of the pits.

2. Alex Bowman, No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet

3. Bubba Wallace, No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota

All of the drivers at the restart have the softer tires for the start.

Lap 50: Mandatory pit stops

We've hit the midway point of the All-Star Open. The top-two finishers will advance to the All-Star Race.

Lap 40 of All-Star Open: Ty Gibbs dominant

Ty Gibbs has been dominant in the first 40 laps of the 100-lap All-Star Open. Bubba Wallace is in second. Austin Cindric is third and Alex Bowman is fourth. The top two finishers from the Open qualify to the All-Star Race.
