What is Rum Chata?
One of my favorite liquors, Rum Chata, is strong enough to truly be an adult drink, but not knock you over strong like straight liquor.
Rum Chata is a cream rum based drink that works well in mixed drinks, but is smooth enough to enjoy on its own as a sipping drink.
One of the most popular mixed drinks featuring rum chat is a rum chata white russian, which is next on my list to try along with a rum chata coconut snowflake co*cktail for coconut rum lovers!

Our local liquor store has wine tastings and they often have a liquor to try as well. I tried Rum Chata there several years ago and loved it.
Usually I just sip it from a small glass and savor the taste, but I decided to give some recipes a try with my all time favorite liquor.

Adults-Only Rum Chata Hot Cocoa
Thisrum chata hot cocoagot an exclamation of, “OH! This is the best drink I’ve ever had!” from my friend Jody. It definitely does not disappoint.
You'll need:
- 2 tbps Ghiradelli Double Chocolate Mix
- 6 oz whole milk
- 1 shot of Rum Chata
- 1/16 tsp ofground cinnamon
- Marshmallows
To add to the presentation you could rim the glass with crushed graham crackers.

Pumpkin Spice Chata co*cktail
Wow. This mix of alcohols makes for the perfect drink… but it’s strong so watch out! ThisPumpkin Spice Rum Chatawould make a beautiful Christmas party co*cktail served in a martini glass.
You'll need:
- 1 Part Vodka
- 1 Part Rum Chata
- 1 Part Pumpkin Spice Cream Liqueur
- Whipped cream
- Optional-include a cinnamon stick

Rum Chata Cake or Cupcakes
Based on my grandma’s rum cake recipe, thisRum Chata Cakeis delicious (and strong!).
You'll need the following for your cake:
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1- 16.5 oz package of yellow cake mix
- 1- 3.75 oz package of instant vanilla pudding mix
- 4 Eggs
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup Rum Chata
Rum Chata Glaze:
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup Rum Chata
Rum Chata Root Beer Float
Ice cream. Alcohol. Root Beer. Pretty much all of my favorite things in one frosty, cold glass. Delicious. Try out the recipe for thisRum Chata Root Beer Float.
You'll need:
- Root beer
- 1 or 2 shots of Rum Chata
- Vanilla ice cream

Chai Rum Chata Recipe
Our favorite local restaurant,The Corner Stable,hadChai Rum Chataas a special one summer, served cold. I just *had* to have it at home so I recreated it. Served hot or warm, it’s delicious for any weather.
You'll need:
- David Rio Tiger Spice Chai: 2 Tbsp
- 7 oz whole milk
- 1 shot of Rum Chata
- 1/16 tsp ofground cinnamon
- Optional: Flavored Syrup, I added 1/2 tsp ofMonin Caramel flavored syrup

Copycat Rum Chata
I’m guessing this isn’t quite the same thing… after all, it does need to be refrigerated, but thisCopycat Rum Chatais sweet and creamy and sure is a good substitute if you can’t find it locally. Add a shot of vanilla vodka to add another layer of flavor.
You'll need:
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup simple syrup ( ½ cup sugar, ½ cup water)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 teaspoon homemadevanilla extract
- a pinch of nutmeg
- 2 cups of Bacardi Rum (add more or less to taste): 2 cups makes thisstrong

Easy Sweet Liquor Strawberry Shortcake
This sweet liquor strawberry shortcake is the perfect dessert to enjoy if you like experimenting with all sorts of different dessert liquors. I usually use store bought angel food cake, but you can make your own too!
You'll need:
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1.25 c of sliced strawberries
- 2 tbsp of liquor (plus some to pour on cake)
- Store bought or handmade angel food cake
- Whipped cream
If you are a fan of sweet co*cktails this is one to try!

Rum Chata Pudding Popsicles
Make some quick adult pudding pops with your extra rum chata!
You'll need:
- Popsicle molds
- 1.5 cups of milk
- .5 cup of Rum Chata
- Jell-O Sugar-Free Instant Pudding and Pie Filling, White Chocolate
